How to assemble a fingerboard?

Do you need help with assembly of a fingerboard? This guide is exactly for you!

In a few simple steps, we will explain how to assemble a fingerboard like a professional!

What will you need?

  • Fingerboard set (deck, trucks, wheels, tape)
  • Accessories (nuts, screws, spacers, assembly tool, file/cutter/scissors)

How to assemble a fingerboard?

Step 1:

Put screws into the holes in the deck.

Step 2:

Use the assembly tool to mount the trucks to the deck. The centre nuts in the trucks should be facing towards each other as shown in Fig. 8.

Step 3:

Fit the spacer” onto all the axles of the trucks - it is a small metal tube, see fig. 2.

This step applies only to 32mm WoodClub REGULAR trucks, other trucks do not have spacers".

Step 4:

Fit the wheels onto the axles of the trucks and mount them with nuts.

Step 5:

Peel off the grip tape and cut half of the white/yellow base paper to make it easier to stick to the deck.

Step 6:

Stick the grip tape onto the deck, so that it covers the entire deck.

Step 7:

You can cut the grip tape using 3 possible methods:

  • file - file in the direction of the arrow in fig. 6
  • cutter - move the cutter in the same direction as the file, see fig. 7
  • scissors - cut grip the tape according to the shape of the deck

Step 8:

Your fingerboard is now assembled and ready for a great ride!

Tips from our professionals:

  • It is harder to screw the screws into trucks for the first time because they have to cut a thread – we recommend to use a classic large screwdriver and it's super easy.
  • By tightening and releasing the nut at the wheel, you can set how much the wheel should rotate
  • Do not tighten the nuts completely to 100%, so that it does not slow the wheels too much.
  • Do not over tighten the auto-block nuts as it would damage the nuts permanently.
  • By tightening and loosening the nut in the middle of the trucks, you can adjust the stiffness of the truck suspension.
